Rain Garden Groundbreaking Ceremony at Good Foods Market & Cafe

Posted 9/14/08. Good Foods Market & Café on Southland Drive will host location for a press conference for the Southland rain gardens project on October 13th at 2:00 pm. Guests will include Mayor Jim Newberry, City Councilman Don Blevins, and representatives from Lexington Fayette Urban County Government and Kentucky American Water.



Midway Rain Garden Workshop October 5, 2008

Posted 8/25/08. On Sunday October 5 the Bluegrass Rain Garden Alliance is co-sponsoring a Rain Garden Workshop at the Midway Women's Club. The workshop will be from 1-3pm and we'll be planting a rain garden. Participation is limited to 30 people. Call Bob Rathbone at 859-846-9970 or email at srathbone@qx.net to register.



Rain Garden Workshop in Franklin County

On September 27, 2008 a Rain Garden workshop will be held in Frankfort at the Franklin County Extension Office. Anyone is welcome to attend! Our #1 rain garden at Coca Cola on Leestown Road is almost complete!
An official dedication ceremony for the garden will take place later this fall. Check back for details!


New Rain Garden at Good Foods Market
The Southland Association, Good Foods Market, and CDP Engineers < www.cdpengineers.com >, one of BRGA's partners, will be partnering to construct a rain garden at Good Foods on Southland Dr. beginning later this summer. Check out the progress the next time you're at the co-op!
July 16th a press conference was held to officially announce the plans for a rain garden at the Good Foods Co-op on Southland Drive funded through a grant from Kentucky American Water.


Bluegrass Rain Garden Alliance - Rain garden Tour

The Bluegrass Rain Garden Alliance is sponsoring a free rain garden tour of Lexington on Sunday May 18, 2008. Participants will see the rain gardens of 5 local homeowners and the Arboretum's gardens. The tour will be from 1pm-5pm. Please arrive promptly at the Arboretum at 1 to ensure you get to see all of the gardens!!
